The g20 trek is Lightwave’s workhorse semi-geodesic tent. A free-standing, three-pole tent that weighs in at 2.60 kg, this is a classic, solid design that really hasn’t been bettered. This has the same all-weather performance of the premium g20 ultra, but weighs a little more (350 g) and costs a lot less.
The g20 trek is pitched inner-first. In our opinion, this is still the best system for geodesic designs as it reduces the complexity of the flysheet and is far easier to tension evenly. With a little practice, it takes around 7 minutes to pitch.
About 60% of the cost of a tent is fabric, and the greatest part of this is invested in the flysheet. The g20 trek is made from a 40-denier, silicon-coated (both sides), nylon rip-stop fabric, and gives what we believe to be the best balance between cost, durability and strength, with only a small weight penalty.
The g20 trek is an affordable tent for all-round use. A classic, semi-geodesic shape, it combines strength and durability with the stability and convenience of a free-standing design.
